# Consolidator & Cross-Border Handoffs

Over 40% of e-commerce parcels—and nearly 100% of economy cross-border orders—change physical hands between an **origin consolidator** and a **final-mile carrier**. When you query only the final-mile carrier, your tracking UI shows *"Shipping Label Created, USPS Currently Awaiting Package"* or *"We're expecting your parcel"* for 3 to 10 days while the parcel is actively moving through middle-mile sort hubs.

`lastscanned` lets you query both the consolidator and the final-mile carrier synchronously via `GET /v1/track/{number}?carrier={slug}`.

## Domestic USPS Consolidator Handoffs (`926129…` / `927489…` / `93…`)

USPS Electronic Verification System (eVS) and IMpb barcodes beginning with `92` (`92001…`, `926129…`, `927489…`) or `93` are shared barcodes. Because `usps` is checked first in auto-detection order, pass `?carrier=` to query the middle-mile consolidator directly during transit:
